The prayer chamber of Nagina Masjid contains three bays separated by pillars and arches, with the central arch featuring nine decorative cusps.
Shah Jahan commissioned this private mosque between 1631 and 1640 as a dedicated prayer space for the women of the Mughal royal family.
The mosque reflects Mughal architectural traditions through its white marble construction, triple dome design, and geometric patterns throughout the structure.
Located within Agra Fort complex, the mosque remains accessible during regular fort visiting hours and requires no additional entrance fee.
A balcony adjacent to the mosque allowed royal women to shop at Mina Bazaar below while maintaining their privacy from the general public.
