Salangpur, village in India
Salangpur is a small village in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, best known for the Kashtabhanjan Dham Hanuman temple located within its limits. The village sits in flat farmland, with simple houses surrounded by cultivated fields and narrow roads connecting it to nearby towns.
Salangpur developed as a farming settlement and gained wider recognition in the 19th century when the Kashtabhanjan Dham Hanuman temple was established. The temple was built by Gopalanand Swami, a saint of the Swaminarayan tradition, which turned the village into a place of pilgrimage.
Salangpur is closely associated with a well-known Hanuman temple that draws pilgrims from across Gujarat throughout the year. On festival days, the roads leading to the temple fill with visitors, and small stalls selling flowers and sweets appear along the way.
The temple is the main destination for most visitors and is easily reached on foot from the village center. Weekends and Hindu festival days bring large numbers of pilgrims, so a weekday visit tends to be quieter.
The Hanuman idol inside the temple is believed by many to have the power to cure possession and mental illness, which draws a specific group of pilgrims who come seeking relief. Every Tuesday, a special ceremony takes place that brings notably more visitors than on other days of the week.
