The National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli is an engineering college in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, southern India. The campus spans around 800 acres (325 hectares) and holds laboratories, libraries, student housing and shared facilities for about 8000 students and teachers.
The college opened in 1964 as Regional Engineering College and gained national importance status in 2007 through an act of parliament. Since then it bears its current name and forms part of the network of technical institutes across the country.
The institute follows the Sanskrit motto 'Satyameva Jayate' and integrates Tamil Nadu educational traditions with national technical advancement programs.
Access to the campus follows a main entrance road that leads to the different departments and living areas. Most buildings sit in open blocks between green spaces and paved paths.
The main library houses a collection of around 250,000 books, journals and research documents. It offers reading rooms and digital workstations for students and researchers from all 17 departments.
