Ujjayanta Palace

Ujjayanta Palace is a building with three domes that combines European, Persian, and Indian architectural styles. It contains multiple rooms including a throne room, reception halls, and a Chinese room with ornate ceiling work.

A maharaja commissioned the palace construction at the end of the 1800s, and workers completed it in the early 1900s. It originally served as the royal residence for the ruling family.

The name comes from a famous writer who gave the palace its title. It now houses collections that show the life and treasures of the royal family who once lived here.

The palace welcomes visitors year-round and offers guided tours through its rooms. It is helpful to set aside enough time to explore all the different areas inside.

Craftspeople from China traveled to the location to create the ornate ceiling of the Chinese room with their own hands. This fine craftsmanship shows the level of detail invested in the palace when it was built.
