Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, Performing arts center in Chembukkavu, Thrissur, India

Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi is an academy for dance, theatre and music in Thrissur, Kerala, working in cooperation with the central Sangeetha Nataka Akademi in Delhi. Its grounds are marked by a maroon signboard on a concrete post, lettered in Malayalam, Latin and Devanagari script, with a tiled-roof building and a row of windows behind trees. Mattannur Sankarankutty is its chairman and Karivellur Murali its secretary.

The institution was founded in 1958 and has served as a central hub for preserving and promoting traditional art forms in Kerala for decades. Over time it has become a major venue where emerging and established artists find recognition and support.

The Akademi runs an annual professional drama competition: in 2017 ten plays chosen from 29 were staged in Thrissur from 23 July to 1 August, with Njarakkal Sreeni as jury chairman. It also gives yearly awards in music, dance, theatre and traditional art forms, and in 2010 opened a cultural centre at the Bahrain Kerala Samajam.

The center is located in the Chembukkavu area and is easily accessible by public transport or car. Visitors should check ahead about current events and programs to ensure they arrive when performances or exhibitions are scheduled.

The Akademi's professional drama competition selects ten plays from entries across Kerala and stages them in Thrissur; the 2017 edition ran from 23 July to 1 August, with Njarakkal Sreeni as jury chairman. The 2014 results were delayed after some questioned the selection process in court.
