Milagres Church is a Roman Catholic building in Hampankatta featuring white stone walls decorated with ornate pillars and arches throughout its structure. Inside, you will find multiple altars dedicated to different saints, each arranged to create distinct sacred spaces within the main worship area.

The original church structure was built in 1680 by Bishop Thomas de Castro on land granted by Queen Chennamma of the Keladi kingdom. This royal support helped establish the church as a major Catholic center in the region during that period.

The name Milagres comes from the Portuguese Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Milagres, Church of Our Lady of Miracles. The parish runs Milagres College and the Milagres Hall Complex as part of the wider Church Group, so the grounds host both worship and community functions. The church was renovated in 2022.

The church and its attached school building are located in Hampankatta and easily reachable on foot from the main area. Be aware that the complex operates alongside an active educational institution, so visiting during school hours may limit access to certain areas.

Bishop Thomas de Castro, a Theatine from Divar, Goa, was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Canara and Malabar in 1674 and died on 16 July 1684. His remains lie in the south-eastern corner of the cemetery, marked by a bronze slab beside the St. Monica Chapel. He founded the church in 1680; the architect of the present building was Fr. Diamanti S.J., who worked under Fr. Frank Pereira after the facade collapsed in 1911.
