Tillari Dam, Dodamarg, Gravity dam in Dodamarg region, Maharashtra, India.
Tillari Dam is a concrete gravity structure spanning the Tillari River and creating a large reservoir that stores water for surrounding areas. The installation supplies multiple water treatment and irrigation facilities with a steady water source.
Construction of this structure began in 1988 following planning that started in 1986, with the work stretching across multiple years. Completion arrived in 2009, marking a key milestone in regional water management.
The dam's construction caused several villages to relocate, which changed how local farming communities lived and organized their daily lives in the area. People adapted to new settlements and ways of working the land.
The site is best visited during daytime when you can see the structure and surrounding landscape clearly. Wear sturdy footwear since paths around the area can be uneven and wet in places.
The reservoir sits near Hajgoli village and is fed by two canal networks that carry water in different directions from the main structure. This dual-canal system allows both sides of the valley to receive water from one central source.
