Veera Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Swami

This monumental sculpture stands near Paritala village along National Highway 65, roughly a half-hour drive northeast from central Vijayawada. Built from concrete, it reaches a total height of 41 meters (about 135 feet) and includes a small shrine at its base where visitors may pause.

The sculpture was installed in June 2003 after a local trust initiated the project. Since then, it has become one of the most prominent religious landmarks in Andhra Pradesh.

The figure depicts Hanuman, a revered character in Hindu storytelling often associated with strength and loyalty. Many visitors bring flowers and coconuts, light oil lamps, and recite prayers in the small temple area beneath the sculpture.

The site remains open every day around the clock and charges no admission. Travelers coming from Vijayawada should allow roughly an hour of driving time and consider visiting outside midday heat.

When completed, this concrete structure ranked as the second tallest Hanuman depiction worldwide. Its surface carries fine details that remain visible despite the immense scale.
