Kabilar Kundru rises from the middle of the Ponnaiyar River near Tirukoilur, forming a natural rock formation in Tamil Nadu's landscape.
The rock gained significance when Tamil poet Kapilar chose this location for his final fast after the death of his friend Vel Pari in battle.
The monument holds inscriptions and carvings that document ancient Tamil literature, reflecting the artistic expressions of historical periods.
Visitors can reach the monument through established paths from Tirukoilur town, with local guides available to explain the site's historical context.
The rock formation stands as the only known location where the ancient Tamil poet Kapilar performed the ritual of Vadakirrutal facing northward.
