Arahanthgiri Jain Math

Arahanthgiri Jain Math is an ancient Jain temple complex built into a hillside in Tiruvannamalai, with natural caves that serve as meditation spaces and chambers for manuscripts. A carved statue of the Jain saint Neminath stands at the top, visible from below and accessible by climbing the steps.

The temple originated in ancient times as a significant spiritual center where large communities of Jain monks gathered to practice their faith. The site developed over centuries and became an important place for preserving religious knowledge and teachings.

This place draws pilgrims who come to meditate and participate in prayers throughout the year. The community gathers here for religious observances and spiritual practices that remain central to daily worship.
