Thali Mahadeva temple, Kozhikode, Hindu temple in Kozhikode district, India
The Thali Mahadeva temple features traditional South Indian architecture with detailed sculptures and multiple shrines dedicated to Shiva and Krishna deities.
Built in the 12th century during the Chera dynasty, the temple complex expanded in the 14th century under the guidance of Zamorin rulers.
The temple hosts the annual Pattathanam event in October, bringing scholars together for philosophical and spiritual discussions following centuries of tradition.
The temple celebrates two major festivals: an eight-day celebration starting on Vishu Sankramam in April and Shivratri between February and March.
Two sacred ponds within the temple grounds complement the presence of multiple deities, including Thevaram Ganapathy, Bhagavathy, and Narasimha.
