Omassery Grama Panchayat is a local government unit in Kozhikode district in Kerala's Malabar region. The area spans several communities and connects through state highways and regular bus services to larger towns like Kozhikode and Mukkam.

Omassery Panchayat was formed in 1971. The Chokur Sree Rama Temple, said to have been built in the 9th century, is evidence of the area's early heritage. Omassery was part of the nine desams of Kozhikode taluk in the old Madras State, under the Kottayam princely state. Remains of a bridge said to have been built for Tipu Sultan's army can still be seen in the Koodathai river.

The Chokur Sree Rama temple is said to date from the 9th century, and the Jarakandi Makham Shareef and Cholakkal Juma Masjid are among the many Muslim and Hindu shrines in the panchayat. The place name is often linked to a local legend, and the annual temple and mosque festivals draw people from the surrounding villages.
