Pozhuthana Grama Panchayat

Pozhuthana Grama Panchayat extends over 71.51 square kilometers of land, bordered by Thariode panchayats in the north and Vythiri taluk in the south.

The establishment of this gram panchayat occurred during India's push for decentralized governance, empowering local communities to manage their administrative affairs independently.

The panchayat incorporates thirteen distinct series including Ediyamvayal, Athimoola, Anoth, and Vayanamkunnu, each maintaining their local traditions within the Kerala framework.

Visitors can reach the panchayat through a 74-kilometer road journey from Kozhikode railway station, passing through nine mountain bends along the route.

The Pozhuthana river flows from south to north through the center of the panchayat, creating a dendritic drainage pattern before joining the Kabani River.
