Azam and Muazzam Khan's Tomb

Azam and Muazzam Khan's Tomb is a brick structure in Vasna with symmetrical elements and multiple chambers inside. The walls and spaces display traditional Islamic patterns that repeat throughout both the exterior and interior surfaces.

The tomb was built in 1457 during the Gujarat Sultanate period and houses two Persian brothers who were known for their skills in archery and architecture. It stands among the earliest examples of Islamic funerary structures in the region.

The tomb displays a blend of Persian building styles and local craftsmanship visible in the wall details and vaulted spaces. Visitors can feel this connection between outside influences and regional traditions directly in how the structure was made.

The site is easiest to reach via the main road through the Vasna neighborhood, where regular buses run from central Ahmedabad. A visit here works well combined with other sights in the area.

The brick structure has remained largely unchanged since its construction over 500 years ago and provides insights into early Islamic masonry techniques. The original building methods and materials are still clearly visible on the surfaces.
