Ahmedabad Town Hall, Municipal hall in Ahmedabad, India.

Ahmedabad Town Hall is a municipal building in Ahmedabad that blends Art Deco design with traditional Gujarati temple-inspired architectural elements. The structure features thick brick walls, an octagonal concrete dome, and a floor plan created from two squares rotated 45 degrees to form a star shape.

British architect Claude Batley designed this building in 1938 with an innovative geometric approach. It has served as an important municipal center since its completion.

The building is officially named the Sheth Mangaldas Girdhardas Memorial Hall and serves as a central gathering place for city activities and community events. It holds importance as a symbol of municipal life in the city.

The hall is located near Ellisbridge in Ahmedabad and is easily accessible by road. Keep in mind that it functions as an active municipal facility, so certain areas may have restricted access for visitors.

The building underwent major renovations in 1997 that removed a false ceiling added over time and introduced a surrounding platform. These changes maintained the integrity of the original design while updating the interior space.
