Eight-Point Gallery Cafe, Art gallery and coffeehouse in Asramam, Kerala, India
Eight-Point Gallery Cafe sits within a restored heritage building called Parambarya in the Asramam Picnic Village, merging exhibition spaces with a coffeehouse. The interior combines historic architecture with modern gallery rooms and refreshment areas.
The venue opened in 2015 following renovations carried out by the District Tourism Promotion Council to repurpose the historic structure for cultural activities. This restoration brought the building back to serve the community and visitors.
The name draws from the eight waterways of Ashtamudi Lake and incorporates eight different art forms that reflect local Kerala traditions. Visitors encounter artworks in the exhibition spaces that showcase regional creative expressions.
The venue sits within the Asramam Picnic Village and is easily reached on foot, with marked paths and nearby parking available. Guests can freely move between exhibition spaces and coffeehouse areas throughout their visit.
The grounds feature a book exchange system called Little Free Library where visitors can take a book and leave one in return. This small-scale library creates a sharing community among readers.
