Shilparamam Jathara

Shilparamam Jathara is an artisan village with permanent workshops and sales stalls where traditional products are made and sold. The grounds include green spaces, an outdoor theater, and dedicated areas for different craft activities.

The site was established by the state government in 2009 to preserve and display traditional craft techniques. This initiative grew from a desire to protect old skills from being lost and to keep them available for future generations.

Local artisans display their skills in pottery and woodwork while traditional music plays in open spaces. Visitors can watch craftspeople working with their hands and see how these traditions remain alive in daily practice.

The grounds have paths ideal for walking and strolling, especially in the early morning when it is cool. It is easy to navigate on foot with open areas allowing visitors to move freely between different craft sections.

An enclosed area houses different bird species from India and abroad, giving the site an unexpected natural dimension. This quiet corner is often overlooked but offers a pleasant contrast to the craft workshops.
