Province of Oristano

The Province of Oristano spans 3,040 square kilometers along the Gulf of Oristano, containing 87 municipalities between the sea and marshlands.

The region emerged from parts of Cagliari and Nuoro provinces in 1974, occupying territories of the medieval Giudicato of Arborea until 1420.

The archaeological site of Tharros displays Phoenician remains while the Museum of Mont'e Prama presents ancient Nuragic warrior sculptures from Sardinia.

The province maintains direct train connections to major Sardinian cities and features multiple coastal access points to Mediterranean beaches.

The province contains Baradili, which holds the record as the smallest municipality in Sardinia with fewer than 100 residents.
