Appennino Lucano - Val d'Agri - Lagonegrese National Park

The park spans 690 square kilometers of mountain ranges, dense forests, and river valleys across the southern section of the Apennine mountains.

Established in 2007, the national park emerged as a response to protect the natural heritage between Cilento and Pollino national parks.

Twenty-nine municipalities within the park boundaries maintain traditional practices, including local handicrafts and regional food production methods.

The park administration operates information centers that provide maps, guided tour arrangements, and educational programs about local wildlife and vegetation.

Monte Volturino rises to 1836 meters, creating distinct microclimates that support over 1000 plant species throughout different elevation zones.
