Palazzo della Banca Nazionale del Lavoro is a large bank building in Naples built between 1933 and 1938, clad in travertine stone with clear geometric forms. The prominent corner tower marks the skyline while the symmetrical facade with carved stone lines creates a solid and ordered appearance.
Originally built as Palazzo dell'Istituto Nazionale Fascista di Previdenza Sociale, it was part of Naples modernization plans in the 1930s. By the early 1950s, the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro took it over as their headquarters.
The building reflects Italian rationalism style, showing how banks were designed in this era to convey strength and trustworthiness. The simple stone walls and clear lines mirror the approach common throughout Italy during this period.
