Santa Caterina di Valverde

Santa Caterina di Valverde is a neoclassical church in Messina with a facade featuring five steps, Ionic columns, and a triangular pediment. Inside stands a Tamburini electric organ from 1939 with 1142 pipes that accompanies religious services.

The building was constructed between 1926 and 1932, though its roots run deeper through a monastery founded in the 13th century by a Cyprus queen. This historical continuity at the site persists in its ongoing religious use.
