Palazzo degli Studi, Renaissance palace in Naples, Italy.

This large rectangular palace includes two courtyards, featuring a portico on the western side and closed arches on the eastern facade.

Construction began in 1586 as a cavalry barracks outside Naples walls, and in 1612 viceroy Pedro Fernández de Castro transformed it into a university.

The Meridiana Hall, designed by Giovanni Antonio Medrano, contains frescoes celebrating Ferdinand IV and Queen Maria Carolina of Naples.

The building entrance opens to a long atrium leading to the main staircase, with administrative offices located in the semi-basement levels.

The palace houses a substantial meridian integrated into the floor of its main hall, which served scientific purposes during the 18th century.
