Tennōzu Isle Station, Elevated and underground railway station in Higashi-Shinagawa, Japan.
Tennōzu Isle Station connects two separate sections: an elevated area for Tokyo Monorail and an underground section for Rinkai Line, linked by a long pedestrian bridge. Each section has its own platforms and entrances, making the station a complex transport hub.
The monorail section began operations in 1992, linking central Tokyo with Haneda Airport. The Rinkai Line was added later in 2001, extending connections toward the harbor and Tokyo Bay area.
The station sits within an art district where galleries and exhibition spaces shape the surroundings. Visitors encounter contemporary artworks displayed regularly across nearby buildings and the Terrada Art Complex.
The three entrances A, B, and C lead to different parts of the station and allow different routes through the complex. It helps to know which line and which destination area matters for your journey when entering, to navigate more quickly.
The long pedestrian bridge connecting the two station sections offers a vantage point over the surrounding area and the water below. Many commuters use this bridge as a faster route between the lines, but visitors often overlook the views during their transit.
