Higashiomi, Administrative city in Shiga Prefecture, Japan

Located in east-central Shiga Prefecture, Higashiomi extends from Lake Biwa's eastern shore to the Suzuka Mountains, covering 388 square kilometers of diverse terrain.

The city formed through multiple municipal mergers, culminating in its official establishment on February 11, 2005, uniting several towns including the former Yokaichi city.
