Nada-ku, Administrative ward in Kobe, Japan

Nada-ku extends across 31.4 square kilometers of urban landscape within Kobe city, featuring residential neighborhoods and commercial districts near Mount Rokko.

The ward gained prominence during the Edo period when local brewers discovered Miyamizu water, leading to the establishment of numerous sake production facilities.

Sake production defines Nada-ku's identity, with local breweries contributing 45 percent of Japan's total sake output using specialized Yamada Nishiki rice.

The area connects to central Kobe through multiple railway stations and bus lines, providing direct access to educational institutions and the Oji Zoo.

The Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, designed by architect Tadao Ando, presents contemporary exhibitions within concrete structures near the waterfront.
