Midori-ku, Administrative ward in Nagoya, Japan

The territory spans across 37.91 square kilometers of urban and residential areas, with a population density of 6,528 residents per square kilometer in 2019.

The district contains significant sites from the Battle of Okehazama during the Sengoku period, where Oda Nobunaga confronted the forces of the Imagawa clan.

The former Tokaido post town of Narumi-juku within Midori-ku maintains structures and traditions from the period of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Three separate town mergers occurred between 1963 and 1964, leading to the formation of Midori-ku with its central administrative office established in 1974.

The ward reached the status of most populated district in Nagoya during 2004, surpassing Nakagawa Ward with over 247,475 inhabitants.
