Tachiaigawa Station, railway station in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan
Tachiaigawa Station is an elevated railway station in Higashi-Ōi serving the Keikyu Line. It features two side platforms with two tracks between them, accessible via stairs, elevators, and escalators.
The station opened in 1904 and has remained in operation ever since. The station building was rebuilt in the early 1990s when the tracks were elevated above street level to reduce traffic congestion below.
The name Tachiaigawa means 'meeting river' in Japanese, referencing the waterway near the station. It serves as a gathering point where locals and commuters pass through daily, marking the rhythm of neighborhood life.
The station has elevators and escalators, making it accessible for wheelchair users and those needing mobility assistance. Restrooms are available both inside and outside the ticket gates and are designed to accommodate various needs.
In 2010, the station was assigned the line number KK06, a system designed to help travelers find their way more easily, particularly for visitors unfamiliar with the area. This numbering system represents a relatively recent addition that simplified navigation for modern commuters.
