Takamatsu Castle, Coastal castle in Takamatsu, Japan

The castle complex comprises stone walls, water moats, compound gates, and two surviving turrets spanning an area of 400 by 200 meters.

Ikoma Chikamasa constructed the fortification in 1588 following the conquest of Shikoku, establishing control over critical maritime routes in the region.

The Hiunkaku building within the castle park offers tatami rooms where residents practice traditional Japanese tea ceremonies and flower arrangements.

The fortress grounds open between 5:30 AM and 7:00 PM, with an entrance fee of 200 yen for visitors exploring the site.

This fortification features saltwater moats connected directly to the Seto Inland Sea, making it one of three such structures in Japan.
