Angkor Borei and Phnom Da

Angkor Borei and Phnom Da form an archaeological site near the Vietnam border with ancient temples and stone structures spread across the landscape. A granite hill called Phnom Da rises from the plain and holds early Khmer temples on its summit.

The site was first settled during the Funan period and developed over several centuries into an important hub. Archaeological findings point to a thriving settlement that combined religious and urban roles.

The site displays early Khmer inscriptions and sculptures that blend Buddhist and Hindu religious influences. This mixture of both traditions shaped how the structures look and what they represent to the region.

The Angkor Borei Museum displays excavated objects and offers informative maps about the archaeological work on site. A caretaker is available to help visitors navigate and understand the findings.

The Vat Komnou cemetery contains about 60 bodies from 200 to 400 AD. These graves provide insights into the health, social structures, and daily habits of the ancient population.
