Hannam Bridge is a road bridge spanning the Han River in Seoul, connecting the districts of Sinsa-dong and Hannam-dong. It serves as a key passage between the Gangnam and Yongsan areas, carrying thousands of vehicles daily.
Construction began in 1966 under Hyundai Engineering and was completed in 1969, initially named the Third Hangang Bridge. The structure was renamed in 1985 and became part of international highway networks linking several Asian countries.
The structure received recognition through a musical tribute when singer Hye Eun-Yi recorded a trot song titled Jesamhanggyo about the bridge in 1979.
The bridge is easily accessible and used by pedestrians and cyclists alongside regular traffic. It is best to avoid crossing during peak hours when congestion is heaviest.
Initially designated as the Third Hangang Bridge until 1985, this structure forms part of the Asian Highway Network AH1, connecting multiple Asian countries.
