Some Sevit, Artificial island in Seocho District, South Korea.
Some Sevit is an artificial island on the Han River composed of three connected floating structures. These buildings house restaurants, exhibition spaces, and observation areas with views across the Seoul skyline.
The project was built as part of Seoul's riverside development and represents the first architectural undertaking globally to be constructed on floating platforms. This development changed how the city uses the Han River for cultural and recreational purposes.
The three buildings named D'Light, M'Stage, and L'Layer present rotating exhibitions of contemporary art from Korean and international artists. These spaces function as active cultural venues where visitors can experience different artistic expressions displayed throughout the year.
The site is accessible by public transportation with multiple bus lines and subway stations serving the Seocho area. Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes as exploring the structures and pathways requires walking between the three buildings.
Each evening the three structures transform with advanced lighting systems that create patterns reflected across the river. This daily light display gives the island a different character when visited after dark.
