National Folk Museum of Korea, National museum in Jongno District, South Korea
The National Folk Museum of Korea exhibits traditional artifacts and cultural objects across three main exhibition halls within the Gyeongbokgung Palace complex.
The museum traces its origins to 1924 and officially opened on April 25, 1946, as a research institution dedicated to Korean folk traditions.
The museum preserves and displays thousands of historical items representing daily Korean life, including traditional clothing, household items, and agricultural tools.
The museum opens daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM with free admission, except on January 1st and during Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays.
The museum building incorporates architectural elements from Korean Buddhist temples, including design features from Beopjusa, Geumsa, and Hwaeomsa temples.
