Errachidia Province

Errachidia Province is an administrative region in eastern Morocco that spreads across desert landscapes and palm groves, containing towns such as Erfoud and Rissani. The territory is shaped by arid climate and shows varied settlement patterns between sand dunes and irrigated valley oases.

The region was renamed in 1975 from Ksar es-Souk to honor Moulay Rachid, the second son of King Hassan II. This change marked a shift in how the province was defined during Morocco's reorganization of administrative boundaries.

The province maintains strong Berber and Arab heritage through local crafts, traditional mud-brick architecture, and weekly markets held across its communities. You can see these traditions expressed in the everyday skills and creations of people who live here.

The territory can be reached through Moulay Ali Cherif Airport near Errachidia city, which connects to major Moroccan destinations such as Casablanca. The best time to visit is between October and April, when heat is less intense.
