Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, Administrative region in southern Morocco
Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab is an administrative region in southern Morocco along the Atlantic coast. The territory features desert landscapes, beaches, and a coastal lagoon near the city of Dakhla.
The region was previously called Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira until 2015, when it underwent administrative reorganization. This restructuring established it as one of Morocco's twelve official regions.
The population here includes Berbers, Arabs, and Sahrawi people who keep their traditions alive through music, food, and community gatherings. You can experience these customs directly in the local markets and dining spaces.
The region is divided into two provinces, Aousserd and Oued Ed-Dahab, with Dakhla as the main city. Visitors will find accommodations, services, and activity centers concentrated here.
The waters here have steady winds and favorable temperatures throughout the year, ideal for water sports. These conditions draw windsurfers and kitesurfers who come specifically for these reliable wind patterns.
