Kościół św. Jana Chrzciciela w Budvie

The Church of Saint John the Baptist is a house of worship with three naves and a neo-Gothic bell tower added in 1867. The structure sits on the Square of Old Churches and receives regular visits from tourists and the faithful.

The church was built between the 8th and 9th centuries and served as a cathedral for the former Diocese of Budva. Over the centuries it remained closely tied to the area's religious development and administration.

The interior displays paintings from the Venetian school created over several centuries, showing how religious art was treasured in the region. The Madonna in Punta with its silver frame remains a particularly valued work that visitors can see today.

The eastern section housed a bishop's court that functioned as a residence for Primorje bishops from 886 to 1828. This area stands as a notable example of the administrative and spiritual role the place held in the region's history.
