Khangai Nuruu National Park

The Khangai Nuruu National Park extends across the Khangai Mountains, featuring diverse landscapes from alpine meadows to forest-covered valleys and clear rivers.

The national park, established in 1996, contains the ancient Tövkhön Khiid monastery within its pine forests, which holds centuries of Buddhist history.

Local nomadic communities maintain their traditional way of life within the park boundaries, practicing seasonal migration with their livestock across the steppes.

Visitors need to arrange private transportation to access the park, as public transit options are limited in this remote region of Mongolia.

The park spans multiple ecological zones, from steppe grasslands at 1,700 meters to mountain peaks reaching 2,700 meters, supporting distinct wildlife populations.
