Ulaagchinii Khar Nuur National Park

The national park spans 2,594 square kilometers, featuring two large freshwater lakes surrounded by sand dunes and mountains at 2,000 meters elevation.

The Ministry of Environment and Green Development of Mongolia established this protected area in 2010 to preserve the natural resources of the region.

Local nomadic families maintain traditional pastoral practices near the park, including seasonal migration patterns and livestock management techniques.

Visitors need to arrange transportation from Uliastai airport and obtain necessary permits before entering the designated areas of the national park.

The park contains Ulaagchin Khar Lake and Bayan Lake, which provide essential habitats for endangered species like the White-headed duck and Great bustard.
