Baden-Powell Peak, Mountain summit in Langtang Region, Nepal
Baden-Powell Peak is a mountain summit in the Langtang Region that rises to 5,710 meters. The steep, snow-covered slopes demand technical climbing skills and mountaineering experience.
The peak was renamed from Urkema Peak to Baden-Powell Scout Peak by the Nepalese government in 2007. This change honored the centenary of the World Scouting movement.
The mountain serves as a symbol of international cooperation, with climbing teams from multiple Asian nations participating in organized expeditions throughout the year.
Climbing conditions are best from March to May and September to November. Expeditions from Kathmandu typically span about two weeks for the complete journey.
From the summit, climbers can look directly into Tibet and see several significant peaks. The view stretches to mountains like Shishapangma and Langtang Lirung.
