South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Secretariat

The SAARC Secretariat building serves as the central administrative facility for coordinating activities among eight South Asian member nations.

Established in 1985, the Secretariat became operational in Kathmandu following the organization's founding summit in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Secretariat organizes regular exhibitions, conferences, and meetings that bring together representatives from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

The Secretariat building contains meeting rooms, administrative offices, and conference facilities where delegates discuss regional economic development and cooperation initiatives.

The SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme, managed from this location, enables specific categories of people to travel across member states without standard visa requirements.
