SM Aura, Upscale shopping mall
SM Aura is a large shopping center in Taguig, located within the Bonifacio Global City district, and spreads across several floors with shops, restaurants, and cinemas. The complex includes both international brands and local retailers, and features open-air sections that connect the building to the surrounding streets.
The mall opened in 2013 as part of the broader development of Bonifacio Global City, a district built on land that formerly belonged to the Philippine Army. It was among the first large retail complexes to anchor this part of the city, helping to turn the area into a commercial hub.
SM Aura sits in Bonifacio Global City, a district that draws young professionals and expats from across Metro Manila. Along its open-air terraces and walkways, people often gather in the evening to eat, meet friends, or catch a live performance.
The center sits along one of the main roads of Bonifacio Global City and is easy to reach by taxi or private vehicle, with parking available on site. Weekdays tend to be noticeably quieter, so a visit earlier in the week makes it easier to move around and find a table at the restaurants.
SM Aura houses an art cinema that focuses on independent and foreign films, which is rare for a shopping center of this size in Metro Manila. The same building also regularly hosts art exhibitions and live concerts that have no direct connection to shopping.
