Estádio Cidade de Coimbra is a municipally owned stadium in the Solum area of Coimbra, with 29,622 seats, two-thirds of them covered. Its light metal-and-glass structure, designed by Plarq with KSS Design Group under architect António Monteiro, has a roof carried on slender stands and a north end left open to the city slopes. The west stand holds the dressing rooms, media centre and sports museum, and a panoramic restaurant looks over the pitch.

The stadium underwent comprehensive reconstruction between 2001 and 2003. It hosted two group stage matches during the UEFA Euro 2004 tournament.

The stadium's first event was a Rolling Stones concert on 27 September 2003, before any match was played. Concerts often coincide with Coimbra's city festivities honouring Queen Saint Isabel, as with U2 in 2010 and Madonna in 2012. Andrea Bocelli's 2021 shows featured fado singer Mariza.

The stadium sits in the Solum area of Santo António dos Olivais, next to the Alma Shopping centre, which has cinemas, restaurants and underground parking. The west stand holds the dressing rooms, media centre and sports museum, while a panoramic restaurant looks over the pitch. The athletics track was kept and fitted in 2020 with Polytan smartrack sensors.

During the reconstruction beginning in 2001, approximately 15,000 seats from the previous stadium were integrated into the new design. This shows how the project blended elements of the older facility with modern architecture.
