Frumoasa Monastery

Frumoasa Monastery is a neoclassical monastery in Iași featuring a striking entrance with four Doric columns and symmetrical false towers. The interior displays eight marble columns and frescoes depicting important ecclesiastical councils and a princely family.

A prince commissioned the monastery in the early 18th century on the site of an older 16th-century religious building. After serving as a parish church during a later period, it was restored and reopened as a functioning monastery.
