Old St. George Church

The church structure features a large narthex with three entrance doors, two towers on the west facade, and pilasters decorated with neo-Corinthian capitals.

The original church predates the 16th century, with archaeological findings indicating a 15th-century foundation beneath the present building structure.

The wooden iconostasis displays Ukrainian Baroque style elements, while the exterior architecture incorporates elements from the Brâncovenesc period of Romanian design.

Visitors can locate the church 400 meters south of New Saint George Church, surrounded by residential buildings and local shops in central Bucharest.

The remains of Constantin Brancoveanu rest inside the church, alongside Saint Nicholas relics and other significant Romanian historical figures.
