Ilinje Monastery

Ilinje Monastery stands on the slopes of Kablar Mountain and features stone walls built with traditional Serbian Orthodox architectural details throughout its buildings. The complex sits within the Ovčar-Kablar Gorge and offers views across the surrounding mountains and the Morava River valley below.

The monastery was founded in 1938 and stands as one of ten religious buildings built in the Ovčar-Kablar Gorge during the twentieth century. This collection of sacred structures was developed to preserve and continue Orthodox traditions in the region.

The site can be reached by road from Čačak toward Ovčar Banja, with parking available near the complex entrance. Wear sturdy shoes as the pathways are steep in places, and the location is accessible throughout the year regardless of season.
