Bashkortostan

Bashkortostan spans across 142,900 square kilometers between the Volga River and Ural Mountains, featuring valleys, mountains, and over 13,000 rivers and 2,700 lakes.

The territory became the first autonomous republic within Soviet Russia in 1919, following the establishment of Bashkir authority in November 1917.

The region includes over 4,000 monuments of history, art, and archaeology, representing more than 100 ethnic groups maintaining their traditions and languages.
