Moscow International Business Center, Financial district in Presnensky District, Russia
Moscow International Business Center is a district along Presnenaskaya Embankment where office towers, residential buildings, and commercial complexes stand across roughly 100 hectares. The glass and steel structures reach different heights and form a connected skyline of modern architecture with bridges and plazas between individual buildings.
Development of this business center began in the nineties on a former stone quarry site and became the largest project of its kind in Russia. Over the years, several towers were completed that now reflect the country's economic growth following the end of the Soviet Union.
Muscovites and international professionals use this area as a workplace, while visitors and residents walk between the buildings during evenings and weekends. The lower floors of many towers hold restaurants, shops, and public areas that create a mix of busy office life and modern city living.
The district has several metro stations and pedestrian bridges that provide connections between buildings and to the rest of the city. Visitors can move freely between public areas, though they should note that many towers house offices and have access controls.
Several towers here surpass 370 meters (1,214 feet) in height and are among the tallest structures in Europe. Parts of the complex rest on artificial platforms built above the original quarry floor to level the uneven terrain.
