Bagration Bridge, Pedestrian bridge in Moscow, Russia
Bagration Bridge is a pedestrian crossing over the Moskva River in Moscow with a two-level structure and large windows throughout. The bridge features moving walkways on the lower level and an open viewing platform on the upper section.
The bridge opened in 1997 during Moscow's 850th anniversary celebrations and was named after General Pyotr Bagration from the 1812 war. It marked an important moment in the city's modern infrastructure development.
The Life Tree sculpture by Ernst Neizvestny stands in the bridge vestibule, making it a center for art exhibitions and cultural gatherings.
Access to the bridge is available from both riverbanks using stairs and escalators, with movement between levels easily accessible. The lower level is fully enclosed with glass for weather protection, while the upper level remains open to the air.
A Life Tree sculpture by Ernst Neizvestny sits in the vestibule and draws visitors exploring art exhibitions that rotate through the space. This artistic presence transforms the bridge into something beyond a simple river crossing.
