Estosadok, Mountain village in Sochi, Russia.
Estosadok is a mountain village sitting at about 700 m (2,300 ft) elevation in the Caucasus range and lies along the Mzymta River between high forests. The settlement spreads along the river valley with snow-capped peaks surrounding it on all sides.
The village was founded in 1886 by Estonian settlers and first called Estonka, then renamed to its current name in 1903. The name change reflected a period when the local population had declined.
The village preserves Estonian architectural details in its buildings, and a museum in a historic house honors Estonian writer Anton Tammsaare. You can notice these cultural traces while walking through the settlement.
A railway station connects the village with Sochi International Airport and the Olympic Village through regular train services. The train is the most straightforward way to reach this mountain location.
The place is home to a well-known ski resort and sits near a large nature reserve of the region. This makes it a hub for both winter sports and nature exploration.
