Lenine Raion of Crimea, Administrative district in eastern Crimea.
Lenine Raion is an administrative district in eastern Crimea encompassing approximately twenty-eight settlements and municipalities. The area consists of rural communities, agricultural lands, and a network of transportation connections linking these settlements to the district center.
The district was established in 1930 and was previously known as Petrovsky and Kerch before receiving its current name. Its administrative center was located in Yedi Kuyu, shaping the region's governance structure from that point forward.
Settlements across the district carry names in Russian, Ukrainian, and Crimean Tatar languages, showing the region's multilingual roots. This linguistic diversity appears in local place names and everyday communication throughout the communities.
The district features an extensive network of road connections linking its various rural settlements together. Starting from the administrative center provides the best orientation for exploring the different communities and surrounding areas.
The region underwent major population movements in 1944 when Soviet authorities relocated large groups of people. These events fundamentally altered the ethnic composition of local communities across the territory.
