Gustav III's museum of antiquities
Gustav III's museum of antiquities, Art museum in Stockholm Palace, Sweden
The museum displays over 200 classical sculptures within two stone galleries situated in the northwestern wing of Stockholm Palace.
King Gustav III assembled this collection during his travels to Italy between 1783 and 1784, leading to the museum's establishment in 1794.
The museum maintains its original exhibition arrangement from the 18th century, presenting ancient sculptures in their historical context.
Visitors can access the museum daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with admission fees of 160 SEK for adults and 80 SEK for students.
The Larger Stone Gallery features the renowned Endymion sculpture, which gained recognition throughout Europe in the 1700s.
